Beyond Srebrenica proudly runs Inseparable: Lessons from a Nation Divided – a theatre-in-education programme for schools.
It is entirely free for schools to access.
The powerful production is performed in schools and accompanied by a workshop and teaching resources, aims to raise awareness of the Bosnian genocide in Srebrenica and promote tolerance, understanding and combat hate speech in Scotland, and beyond.
Funded by the Gordon Cook Foundation, ‘Inseparable: Lessons from a country divided’ is a unique educational theatre experience, built upon learning from the conflict in Bosnia and the Srebrenica Genocide.
Written and produced by award-winning theatre-in-education specialists, Collingwood Learning, the production captures the lived experiences of people who survived the Bosnian war.
The powerful piece of theatre follows the experiences of three young people whose ordinary lives are quickly affected by extremism and hatred as war takes over almost everything in their homeland.
The piece explores what young people in Scotland can do to stop hatred in its tracks – lessons that are as important today as they have ever been.
Due to the themes explored in this powerful performance, we advise that ‘Inseparable: Lessons from a country divided’ is suitable for S4-S6 pupils.
